Supervisors are accountable for the performance, conduct, safety, and morale of a team of Security Screening Supervisors during their assigned shift — and for ensuring that TSA's security mission is executed flawlessly at every screening station in Local Area's terminal. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising a team of Security Screening Supervisors across all checkpoint positions during assigned shifts at Local Area
  • Assigning and rotating TSO positions to ensure coverage, compliance, and operational efficiency throughout the shift
  • Conducting direct observation of TSO screening performance and providing immediate corrective coaching
  • Reviewing and approving all shift documentation including incident reports, equipment logs, and performance records
  • Serving as TSA's escalation point for passenger complaints, checkpoint security incidents, and prohibited item detections
  • Coordinating with Local Area airport law enforcement officers on security referrals and incident response
  • Completing supervisor-specific TSA training requirements and maintaining current certification across all programs
  • Communicating shift status reports, staffing issues, and security anomalies to the AFSD Operations office
  • Supporting the performance management process including mid-year and annual reviews for assigned TSOs

Requirements & Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship
  • High school diploma or GED; further education strongly preferred
  • Minimum three years of experience as a certified Security Screening Supervisor
  • Successful completion of TSA's Supervisor Development Program and supervisory panel interview
  • Demonstrated proficiency and certification across all TSO screening disciplines
  • Clear of any performance improvement plans or disciplinary actions in the prior 24 months
  • Pass Security Threat Assessment and supervisory background investigation
